The tax season is officially underway, and this year there are some big changes. Although the last day to file your taxes isn't until April 15th, most employers send out W-2 forms by the end of January.
This year, under the Affordable Care Act, most Americans will have to confirm they've had health insurance in place for 2014, or face a tax penalty. Currently, the health insurance market is still open for enrollment, but open enrollment ends in February.
Expect to wait longer than normal if you need to ask the IRS a question. Recent budget cuts in the government have made wait times longer.
